Dog portrait

I painted a dog portrait which I was commitioned. It was the largest size painting I have ever painted for portrait. Finally, I Finished it today.

I was planing to go to hospital for blood drawing for the test. But I forgot fasting before the drawing. so, I have to do it again tomorrow.

This is a time of my annual health check up. I went to see my doctor. It was about 5 minutes meeting.

Weather report on the radio was quite accurate this time. As it said, a heavy rain started the late afternoon. Dark and cold Sunday drove me to depression. Well, this is Sunday, the day of rest. So, I am going to take a nap.

When I came home Sunday morning,  I found quite a few mails in my mail box. I never seen so many mails delivered in one time. Anyway, I checked the mails one by one. And I noticed they were not addressed to me but my neighbor and neighbor's neighbor and another neighbor. Three different addresses. I guess deliveryman didn't want bother with them decided put them all in my box, so, I have to deliver them to neighbors. Why do I have to do this. I didn't get any mail for myself but mail delivery duty.

It was a good watercolor class. Surprisingly, Eight students showed up. Most of them painted the street scene I prepared for the class. some of them were very good students.

I am working on a commissioned dog portrait. It's quite a large size for this subject. As a matter of fact, I have painted quite a few animal portrait in my career but this is first time I paint the large size like this. So, I decided to show a progress of my work on this blog. I will start it tomorrow.

Dream

I don't understand why I need a Cordless mouse and a keyboard for my imac. It is a desktop computer, I don't have to carry around here and there. If the computer just stay there on top of the desk I don't need cordless. I am OK using USB connection. Hear me out, When I bought my new imac It came with the cordless mouse and the keyboard. Both of them need buttery to operate. so far no problem but trouble is buttery lose juice so quickly I feel that I am changing it every month. It's wasting energy. And then, one of readers of my blog commented that If I switch of them when I don't use it will work much longer than switch on all the time. Also she said that her mouse and keyboard keep working forever without changing buttery. I thought that make sense.  Wow, good news, why I didn't think of that before.

 Since then I have been fallowing the advice. I switch off them when I don't use it. What more, I wrote the date of changed buttery last time to find out how long buttery works this time. Surprisingly,  buttery was out just after forty six days. I thought it was shorter life than before. What did I do wrong this time. However, I will tray the experiment one more time. And if its life still short like this I will take them outside and crush them into pieces.

Snow Scene of Hokkaido

We had a wonderful watercolor exhibition this weekend. It was a part of annual Koi show event at Ken Nakaoka Community Center in Gardena CA. We started this three yeas ago. Despite of heavy rain we had first day, a lot of people came to see our art works. And second day we had a beautiful day. It was chilly and windy but other than that everything was perfect.  My students and I got together in the exhibition hall and we enjoyed food and drink which some of the students brought in. And we enjoyed  interesting conversation. I should say, we had a such wonderful time. Do you ask what happened for selling art works. Oh, I totally forgot about that. Oh well. may be next year.

I entered two painting to our SGFAA show and I got good news today. One of my painting has sold.

I got a phone call from my agency yesterday. The production company I worked for their video on Feburary wanted me to do voice over in Japanese. At the time of shooting video,  they recorded my English narration. And now they want Japanese one as well.  I went to studio in Santa Monica. At the studio I was surprise to see a Japanese guy was there to greet me. However, it was nothing strange about, after all I was going to read Japanese. therefore, they had to have a some one who knows Japanese well enough to give me instruction or checking my Japanese.  Under his instruction I did good job. At least I believed so. The recording schedule was two hours but we finished it within one hour. After the work I felt great. I like this kind of job. This might be my new career.

We had six students at watercolor class. It was a nice size and easy to teach. I was relaxed and enjoyed entire class.

Yosemite Valley

I have been displaying my art works at library of Japanese consulate in Los Angeles for last four months. The first plan was two months but they wanted show them two more month and I agreed. I received a mail from Marian who takes care of library show that I can pick up my works this week. It was timely notice because I don't have enough art work for this coming weekend show. So, I decided to get them today. Now, I am ready for the weekend show.

Yosemite Falls

I wanted to download some applications to my ipad. However, I still don't know how to set up Wi-Fi network in my house. So, I had to go to shopping center in Manhattan beach where Apple store is. This shopping center has their own Wi-Fi network for the guests for free. Also, this shopping center is very nice and clean. I should come here more often. I think it is closer than the one I usually going to in Torrance.

I downloaded "Skype", board game called "Gomoku" and "ArtRage"(painting software). So, I don't need Wi-Fi set up any more. I have an internet at home.

I stayed at my friend's house two night this weekend. It was like my vacation.

A company which I did work for them sent me an ipad. It was not part of a payment but it was just a gift. I was impressed. So, I am trying to learn how to use this. There is no manual.
