It was coldest morning yet.
 I go out for a morning walk just before sunrise usually
but I waited until sun comes out this morning.
I expected that sun light warm up the ear little bit.

I started growing mustache during the Japan trip. 

I tried to paint same subject in totally different way sometimes. This is one of those painting. I painted same subject you can see down below. This kind of an experimental painting  give me a new idea. What more, it added to some new feeling to my artwork.

Three of my Japanese friends and I went to a seafood buffet restaurant. When I  was young I loved this type of restaurant. I thought It's like a dream that I can eat as much as I can. But now I am not young and I don't eat that much anymore. So, I haven't been all you can eat place for long time. One of my friends called me and said let's try new place. So, we did. four seniors got together and pig ourselves.

We had hot weekend. It was thunder and rain on Saturday.  It was very hot day and rain in the evening on Sunday. I think it strange weather.

J sent me a birthday card from Las Vegas. He is my old friend's friend. My friend died 1989. But his friend have been sent me card every national holiday and my birthday.

Paint small size of watercolor is not so easy. It's totally different way to paint. 

I visited my friend friday noon. We supposed to go out for lunch. But he changed his mined. We end up to a take out lunch. And I am the one who have to go to Chinese takeout place and get food. But we enjoyed that. It was good Chinese food.

A net search engine Firefox suddenly went crazy. I can't use it any more. I have no idea what happened with it. So, I start using Safari now.

I started cooking rice this morning. When I scooped a cup of rice from a rice container, I saw some dark spots inside of rice. I checked them with magnify glass, and I saw some bugs in there. How they got in the rice? I kept the rice  in a tight topped can. It’s almost impossible to get in there. I assume bugs were inside of a bag of rice before I moved some of them in the can. Anyway, not much rice left in the can. So, I spread the rice over a sheet of white paper. This way, it’s easy to see bugs. And I picked up the bugs one by one. I caught four of them. I was glade that much less bugs than I thought.

I started painting small size (6"x9") watercolor paintings for an exhibition in Japan. Reason is their are easy to handle and easy to sell. Of course, I will paint large size, too. But main thing is a small size.

I went to ukulele gathering this afternoon. We have this meeting once a week on Thursday. But I attend only once or twice a week. There is no important reason, I am just lazy. Our group perform on a little stages here and there many times. But I haven't participate it, yet. No particular reason, I am just lazy.

I painted this "Scott and his friend" painting couple of weeks ago. And now his neighbor want her dog picture.

After J and I enjoyed breakfast we took walk around LA downtown. I wanted to see an old restaurant called “Clifton’s Cafe”. It closed for a renovation about three years go. It had been LA downtown’s landmark for 80 years. I had a good memory of the restaurant when I came to USA for the first time.

 The place is still fenced around front area but signs and windows are new. Also wall has new paint. It took a long time but It’s hopeful to see a little progress.

Today is Sunday. I staid bed late. I usually get up 5am. But, I got up 6am this morning instead. I have only one thing to do this morning. J and I go to breakfast at a Japanese restaurant in LA downtown.

I took two of my artworks to Summer Art Fest. at  gallery in San Gabriel. I participate this show every year. I hope some thing good happen this year.

Health

It's still cold out side early in the morning. But I have to go morning walk. Without it my day won't start.

Rain

We had a good rain last night.
We needed water so, It was good timing but it's not enough yet,
We need more water.

The last day of Watercolor exhibition at community center.
I sold a couple of original paintings.
that made me feel good.
Also, I enjoyed talking to people, too.

I have been reading English book out loud.
At least an hour every morning.
This is my way of learning a conversational English.
As result of that I can speak better than before.
At least I think so.

The exhibition was over at 3pm in the afternoon.
I had a plenty of time to clean up my booth and came home.

Since summertime started I have adjusting a morning schedule. I don't know why we have this system anyway.

Friend of mine from Long Beach and Los Angeles came to my town. Three of us went to the restaurant I recently found.A little cozy Japanese restaurant.

 Step by step, how to paint watercolor. 

But this one I don't have much thing to say. 

I painted this first step with in 5minutes. 

So, I  didn't have time to take a photograph how it look like in between steps. 

One thing I can tell you is let leave paper white part of white rose .

The final step, add nice contrast here and there.
As you can see hear is a finishing painting.
Watercolor painting is such a easy thing to paint.

J and I went to breakfast on last Sunday. The restaurant serves the breakfast combination of Japanese and American style breakfast such as miso-soup, eggs, rice and ham. But we love it.

I went to a hospital for drawing blood. It was a such a mess. A lady who did the work made three holes on my arm then she had to call help. I wanted scream "help!" At least I still alive and writing this. Thank god!

It's cold out side. I 'm on my way. Where? It's just morning walk.

To be busy, it's gives me energy.

This is the Oscar night. I am going to watch the show. However, my TV. doesn't get ABC station. So, I will watch late night news show instead.

 

I take a work in the early morning. And I see a orange cat on the way to the park where I do tai-Chi.

It's cold in my house. I don't have a heater this winter. So far, I am doing good.

I have been painting a lot these days.
It's mean I stay home all the time.
I need sun light once a while.
So, I decided to go out. Otherwise, I might become a vampire.

I finished a new painting.

I went to see my bookkeeper. Yes, This is a tax season.

I just finished a new painting.  It was "Flower and Apples".

An old printer broke down. I hated that a lot of new ink cartridges were wasted. because I liked have spare ink all the time. That way I feel comfortable. As you know, I can't get same model printer anymore.

Watercolor Class and good news

I had a watercolor class this afternoon.
I had more students in my class this year.
It keeps me busy.

Oh, yes, I have a good news.
I got call back from the studio where I had an audition last week.
I feel good.

N and I went out dinner. It was Italian called "Palermo".

The begining of year of 2015

It was an ukulele gathering this afternoon. The first gathering this year. It's nice to see ukulele friends all together in one room. I enjoyed playing ukulele for an hour and half.

I wonder how much watercolor paint still remain inside of finished tube. After all, I can't squeeze out 100% content. So, I did a big operation. Actually, I opened tube and see inside.

 

I had a breakfast with J. We have been doing this Sunday morning ritual so many years. I don't remember how long. Anyway, We are regular at this Cafe in Little Tokyo.We enjoy the breakfast what more we enjoy chat.

A friend and I went out for a dinner last night. It was our favored Japanese restaurant "Noshi Shushi". Actually, this is only the Japanese restaurant he agrees with me. I guess he is not crazy about Japanese cuisine. Anyway, we enjoyed the food. I had Nama Chirashi, my friend had Chicken Teriyaki. Oh, we had a bottle of beer, too. The restaurant was busy we had wait 20 minutes to get table. But it was worth it.

 

Good morning everyone. I have just got up and checking e-mail and more.  I go out morning walk a little before sunrise. It's cold outside. Even though  here in Southern California. 

Yosemite Landscape

I had eleven students at the last watercolor class. I would be happy If I have around ten students every class.

When I go out morning walk I wear a fluorescence orange colored vest one like a worker on the road. Reason is my safety. I have to crossing big street during the walk in the town and there are a lot of dangerous situations. I need to protect myself from crazy drivers on the street.

I called a maintenance man to fix my gas heater. Because a man from gas company checked the gas heater couple of weeks ago he said I have to change an old gas pipe bottom of the heater. I have been without heater since that time.
