Sunrise over the Half dome

We painted gorgeous soft pink roses in a yellow water pitcher in our watercolor class. We thought they are peony flower at first, but it was rose, and it's called Abraham Darby. First, I did a demonstration and then the students started painting same subject but better than the instructor. It indicates that I am such a good instructor. (=^-^=)

In the end of the class, all the watercolors painted by the students displayed at the edge of the blackboard. They were all good. I could see a nice personality on each paintings. It was a moment that I felt a satisfaction.

Tama

Internet DSL connection has been working pretty good. Everything moves so fast. I can't believe that I used to have to wait a web page to open for long time. In fact, I had enough time to click a open button and go to kitchen then make a cup of coffee come back. Now I can't do it any more, I can't even have time to urinate. Now I miss the good old days.

Koi

I took my friend to Marukai main store in Torrance. This store sells not only Japanese foods but all different kind of Japanese goods. It was a fun just looking around inside of the store.
Whenever I go to this store alone, I just get whatever I need to get and go home. But this time, I spent time looking around entire store included upstairs with him. Actually, It was the first time I went to the upstairs, I didn't even know that they have an upstairs.

Take a Little Rest

I went to Marukai store. It is the largest store in this area which sells Japanese foods and other daily Japanese goods. I had a lunch the store food court but it was a little disappointment. I ordered Oyako-bowl because it looked so good on a photograph menu on the wall. However, I got the Oyako-bowl I never experienced before, it was over cooked. therefor topping eggs were so dry. I saw four Cooks in the open kitchen. They are all Latino. It is common scene in the Japanese restaurant now a days, so, I didn't worry about it. But this time I was wrong, If I go back there again, I will order something safe. Oyako-bowl is a little bit tricky to cook.

A Scent of Autumn

I enjoyed a carnival at Japanese temple in Gardena. I have been living in the area for quite some time but I have never been to this temple before. I found the temple easy, however, it was hard to fined a parking space. Since they used their parking lot as part of carnival, visitors had to park on the street. Finally, I parked my car on the street two blocks away. It was a small carnival but no trouble finding food booths as usual. Actually I was looking for ward to enjoy eating any way. On that Saturday, I had nothing to do all day. So, It was a perfect little event for me to spend time.

Secret Pond

When I went to a breakfast gathering in Little Tokyo, I made a stupid mistake. I forgot to turn off the headlight of a rent-a-car. It was a small car, Toyota Yaris. I rented this because I was told that it is the most economical car they have. However, I had to operate everything by manually. I didn't mind that, actually, I liked it. Three hours later, I came back to the car and found that the battery was totally flat. Even though, I had a little trouble, I was an optimistic about the incident. It was nothing to worry about, wait thirty minutes or an hour and the battery will be bring back to life. Therefor, I waited and waited. Thirty minutes passed, an hour, two hours, but still the battery was flat. Finally, I gave up and called auto club. Later. I found that the battery was old, It was almost time to change to new one. May be that the reason the battery didn't recover by just waiting.

I took two latest works of mine to San Gabriel Art Association Show. This time I spent too much time for the first painting, therefor, I didn't have enough time to paint second one. But I painted it anyway, I did it within three hours, It was the fastest record of my painting time for that size.

We have hot tea and cookies. Oh, yes we have a mail student and he is only American. What's interesting watercolor class we have.
