Laundry Room

I took one of my paintings to SGFAA gallery. We are going to have an invitational artist show on September. When I was carrying my painting in the parking lot of the gallery, a man approached me and said "Where is the gallery? do you know?" So, I told him where to go. Obviously, he is one of the artists. After I finished a registration, I talked him and found he is the artist I always admire his work. His name it Tom Fong. I love his loose style painting technic. I had nice conversation with him and came home. It was hot in San Gabriel. I had no reason to stay there longer in the heat. I rushed back home and took a nap immediately. And now I feel refreshed and writing this diary.

Black Cat

My landlord's son take care of my front yard. One day, when I took out the garbage, he came to me and asked me that if I liked have videos of "I love Lucy." Actually, I watch the program every day when I have a lunch. I presume that he heard my TV While I am watching the program. Because, my studio door is always opened. "I have a couple of videos. If you like it I will give to you. it is brand new but nobody want to watch them." I accepted them, after all they are free. He gave me three videos. Two of them are regular programs and third one is a documentary of how I love Lucy created. I have seen same episode fifty times at least. But documentary was something new. And it was good. I enjoyed it.

Dark Sky

Finally, my electric dictionary has died. Without it I can't write well, so I had to get new one quickly. I went through an old Japanese magazine to find advertising of dictionary. Since, I am looking for a Japanese-English one, it easy to find at Japanese related stores. I fond one in Torrance, it's not far from my place. Also, the store has special discount sale now. One of the dictionaries is almost half the price.
When I entered the store nobody inside. I waited for a while but nobody showed up. Finally I called "Hello!" Then a man appeared out of the blue like a magic. I said to the man "I am looking for a electric dictionary, I have fond this ad in a magazine. I like to see one on sale." The man went to a glass case near the sales counter and took a box of electric dictionary. "Hey, this is almost half of the regular price." Man said when he saw the ad I brought. Yes, that why I came here. I bought it quickly, before he changes his mind.
Now, I am very happy with my new dictionary. I can write my journal every day from now on, well, maybe not.

Koi

Just because, I don't participate Nisei Week Art and Craft Show this year, I forgot that this weekend is still part of the festival. Even though, I went to Little Tokyo because I had a breakfast meeting. And then I noticed the festival is still going on. Also, I remember that one of my artist friends is exhibiting her sumie painting at Japanese American community center. So, John and I went to the center and enjoyed some of the exhibitions including sumie. I used to studied the sumie at her class. She looked great. It was the Nisei Week weekend of last year that I saw her for the last time. After I talked her for a while, I got a good Idea. I am going to get a room next year for my watercolor exhibition. I don't know how much it cost to get the room like hers, it's worth checking.

Lily of the Nile

Come to think of it, I have only one week until Yosemite Watercolor Class. I have so many things to prepare for the class. Also, I will have a little space inside of art center for exhibit my art works and sell them. First, I started making greeting cards with my art works on. The small items such as these are very popular for the visitors of the park. Besides the cards, I will take some original paintings and advertising materials. Just think about all these things I have to prepare, It makes me crazy. It's going to be very busy one week.

Riverbank

Great! A man came to our watercolor class this afternoon and observed the class. He wants to study watercolor. He is the man I met at Tanabata Festival last weekend. At that time, I gave him a flier of our watercolor class. I showed him what we do at the class and gave some information about paper, paints, brushes. At the end of tour, he said that he will come back to next class. I hope that he become a good new student for the class. At least it's an encouraging.

Secret place

Finally, I bought a new digital camera. I have tried to make my first watercolor video for You Tube with my old camera and a result was not I expected. Even though, I upload to You Tube. Obviously, I wanted make a better one. However, my camera is almost ten years old and the longest shooting time is only 40 seconds and no sound. Therefore, I had hard time to shooting and editing it. That's the reason I got the new camera. The new camera is like a dream, I can shoot movie over 160 minutes non stop. And it has a very good sound system. Then, I made a new video with new camera quickly. It was great. I had uploaded to You Tube right after I finished editing it. Do you want to see it?

Hokkaido

I received a mail from my friend yesterday. He lives in a gated community in Laguna Wood. Also, he has been taking Tai-Chi class at their community center. However, he has been doing it quite some time and he is good. Fact is, he is good enough to teaches the class whenever instructor is absent. In his mail, he wrote "The class has been doing Tai-Chi without a music. so I took my CD one day and everybody loved it." My Tai-Chi class using music from the beginning, So It's hard to imaging the Tai-Chi without music. I am listening the Tai-Chi music while I write this diary, It is a very nice and soothing music. I love it.

Gladiolus

I tried to make a video using my old digital camera. But it was only 40 seconds long movie without sound. Just for fun, I uploaded the video to Youtube but it was damn too short. Some of my friends suggested me to buy HD Camera. But I have no intention of making movies. I think what I need digital camera, because If I can make a five minutes video I would be happy. Youtube world here I come.

Morning Mist

Our Tai Chi class offered to extra minutes of beginners lessen at the last time. I took that and I learn more about Tai-Chi movement. Even though, I still have troubles here and there. I think It will take time to learn enough to enjoy it.

Yellow Flower Pot

I received a visa card from AT&T. This is a part of their rebate program. I bought a DSL internet connection service from AT&T. The deal was that I can get a special discount monthly charge and free DSL modem. However, I had to pay $100.00 for modem then claim the rebate. As result of all the work I got the prepaid visa card for $100.00.
